Consultation

Not sure where to start? A consultation is often the right first step.

If your child’s pediatrician, teacher, or school counselor has raised concerns — or if you simply sense that something is off — an initial consultation can help clarify what is happening and what kind of support makes sense. Many families come in unsure of whether their child needs therapy, testing, or something else entirely. That uncertainty is exactly what a consultation is designed to resolve.

During the consultation, I will conduct a focused interview with you and, when appropriate, your child. If appropriate I may also gather input from teachers or your child’s pediatrician to build a fuller picture. From there, I will share my initial impressions and provide specific recommendations for next steps;  whether that’s therapy, psychological testing, a referral, or simply a check-in at a later date.

A consultation is not a commitment to ongoing treatment. It’s a way to get clear — and to know that whatever comes next, you’re moving in the right direction.
